Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

Hours are published for 5 days a week. On most of those days it is open 8 am–5 pm. It is closed on Saturday, Sunday. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Donovan Brothers Automotive Services at (617) 328-5979; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.9 out of 5 from 94 reviews, which is a strong result for an auto repair shop in Quincy and suggests consistent service.

Quincy is in Massachusetts, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Quincy follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We are on a cross-country road trip from west coast to Boston, as we got closer to the city, my brake warning light came on and the brakes started squeaking badly. My first thought was to take the vehicle to the dealership in Boston for a diagnosis. After inspecting it, they recommended a long list of services and quoted a price that was far more than I expected. I decided to get a second opinion and found Donovan Bros Automotive repair in Quincy through a Google search. I’m glad I did. Mo was honest, professional, and straightforward about what actually needed to be repaired. They fixed my brakes quickly and at a fraction of the cost quoted by the dealership. It’s refreshing to find a shop that values honesty and treats customers fairly. If you’re looking for reliable, trustworthy auto repair, I highly recommend Donovan Bros!!

I’ve brought my car to Donovan Brothers on a few occasions and have been so impressed with their service. Mo and the team are respectful and transparent, always making sure to solve the problem and get my car back quickly. Genuinely care about their customers and really kind people. Can’t recommend enough.

Dave and Mo went out of their way to help me out over the summer after I had been through the ringer with an AC issue. They knew I had already thrown some money at the problem and were nice enough to give me a bit of a break on the work it took to get them up to speed on the issue. They we're incredibly thorough and gracious throughout the entire process and I walked away with the information I needed to make an informed decision on repairs. Tracking down a reliable mechanic can be a bit of a challenge these days, but I have a high level of confidence in Dave and Mo's work. They're were super knowledgeable, communicative and upfront and I would highly recommend paying them a visit if you're in search of a skilled and reliable mechanic.
